Typically when a drug arrest occurs in New Jersey, the arrest creates a potentially detrimental scenario for the accused. A drug arrest can create a heavy burden on the accused who often has to present a legal argument against the pending drug charges and could face severe penalties against their life and liberty. A recent arrest for alleged drug charges may have had a bit of silver lining for a New Jersey native.
Rock star Bon Jovi’s daughter and New Jersey native was recently arrested and charged with a related drug charge. The silver lining of the situation is that both local police and emergency response personnel responded to the situation …and may have saved her life.
Prior to the arrival of local police and emergency response personnel, the rock star’s daughter was found unresponsive in her college dorm room. The 19-year-old woman was unresponsive due to an alleged overdose of the drug heroin. When emergency response personnel found her unresponsive body, she was alive and immediately received the required medical treatment.
In addition to the emergency response personnel, police also arrived at the scene. While the young woman was receiving medical attention, police investigators conducted a search of her dorm room. The results of the investigation produced small amounts of the drugs heroin and marijuana and certain drug paraphernalia.
The young woman was taken into police custody following the incident. She has been charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and the criminal use of drug paraphernalia, all of which are misdemeanor charges. The young woman is scheduled to have a hearing on these charges later this month.
