Teacher’s Aide Charged with Sexually Assaulting Juvenile

Sad women

An entire community has been both saddened and outraged at the recent revelations concerning a teacher’s aide who had been employed by the South Hackensack School District. The once well-respected teacher’s aide has been arrested and charged with sexual assault and two counts of endangering a minor. The County Prosecutor explained that police were informed about the assault one day prior to the aide’s arrest, but it’s still unclear whether the victim claiming assault was a student or another juvenile. The defendant is being held in Bergen County Jail.

If you are facing criminal charges involving a sexual offense, then it’s important to hire legal representation to defend your case. The New Jersey penalties for sexual offenses are life-changing. Without a strong criminal defense lawyer, a conviction may require you to permanently register as a sex offender. Registered sex offenders may be barred from obtaining certain business licenses, rejected by potential employers and find it difficult to obtain work. If sex offenders want to attend school, then they must notify campus security about their conviction. Offenders may be barred from schools, parks and other places children gather. Registering as a sex offender will adversely impact your life, but with the proper legal representation you can ensure your rights are protected and a fair judgement is reached.

Even if the teacher’s aide is never convicted for a sex crime, his personal reputation has been severely damaged by news coverage of the pending charges. Attorney James M. Porfido understands what is at stake when you are facing charges involving a sex crime, and he will work hard to aggressively defend you and your family’s future.
